Rocky Anderson, Executive Director
Rocky served as Mayor of Salt Lake City from 2000-2008. Before serving as Mayor, he was listed in Best Lawyers in America, served as Chair of the Utah State Bar Litigation Section, and was Editor-in-Chief of the Voir Dire legal journal. He served as President of the boards of the Utah affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union, Citizens for Penal Reform, and Guadalupe Education Programs. He was a Board Member of Planned Parenthood Association of Utah and Common Cause of Utah. A vigorous human rights, government reform, and environmental advocate, Anderson was named by the Human Rights Campaign as one of the top ten straight advocates in the United States for GLBT equality, and received the Sierra Club Distinguished Service Award, the EPA Climate Protection Award, the Respect the Earth Planet Defender Award, the National Association of Hispanic Publications Presidential Award, The League of United Latin American Citizens Profile in Courage Award, The Drug Policy Alliance Richard J. Dennis Drugpeace Award, the Progressive Democrats of America Spine Award, the Air & Waste Management Association Richard Beatty Mellon Stewardship Award, and the World Leadership Award for environmental programs. Anderson was named by Business Week as one of the top twenty advocates in the world on climate change, and served on the Newsweek Global Environmental Leadership Advisory Committee.

Artie Mueller, Program Director
Artie Mueller, Program Director, graduated from the University of Utah with a BA in Psychology and German. He brings over 25 years of experience in operations, logistics and international sales management in the ski industry as well as being as instructor for a nationwide ski industry certification program.

Kelly Usher, Team and Membership Director
Kelly was born and raised in Connecticut and moved to the West coast to attend the University of San Diego where she received a BA in Political Science and Peace and Justice Studies with a concentration in Conflict Resolution. At the University of San Diego Kelly was selected to represent her university at a Conflict Resolution Conference in Northern Ireland. She has also had multiple abroad experiences including teaching English in Chile as a United Nations Volunteer, studying abroad in Italy and working with the Missionaries of Charity in Tijuana, Mexico. Kelly feels passionate about inspiring others to make positive change.

Zoey Bridges, Fall 2011 Intern
Zoey was born in Salt Lake City, where she spent half her life growing up, then lived in Tooele for seven years. She graduated from Tooele High with honors and an Associates’ Degree in Science from the USU extension. Zoey is currently attending the University of Utah where she hopes to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies. She is an active member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and volunteers in her community and campus whenever she can. She hopes to attend medical school after graduating.
Priyanka Parekh, Fall 2011 Intern
Priyanka was born and brought up in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She moved to Salt Lake City in the summer of 2011 to attend the University of Utah. Priyanka is very interested in environmental studies and sustainably and she is eager to focus on these issues for High Road. She was active in her high school’s Political Science club where she took part in numerous Model United Nation conferences which served to increase her awareness and change her outlook regarding humanitarian issues around the world. Priyanka is moved by all five of High Roads issues and she hopes to educate others about these causes and bring about real changes.
Jimmy Lee, 2011 Intern
Jimmy was born and raised in Salt Lake City. He is currently attending the University of Utah where he hopes to receive a Bachelor of Science in both Information Systems and Sociology with a minor in Computer Science. He is an active member in the community and strongly believes in a sense of civic duty. Jimmy is passionate about change and seeking sustainable solutions.
